Philip Rosedale

Volunteers from the SLLA attended Mr.Rosedale's lecture at the Long Now Foundation this week. While Rosedale's lecture was erudite and wide-ranging in its scope it failed to address the subject of how far avatars in Second Life will be able to control their own destiny. While Mr. Rosedale saw an increasingly vibrant future for Second Life no mention was made of granting or even experimenting with political rights for avatars. We believe this to be a dangerous way to proceed as Second Life demands and requires the participation of its residents - if this participation is cut-off at the political level residents will begin to disengage.

Freedom for Second Life!
